Hampton Editions, Ltd., located in Sag Harbor, New York has been collaborating and printing with artists including, Willem de Kooning, Dan Flavin, Kiki Smith, Eric Fischl, Roy Nicholson, Lynda Benglis, Jack Youngerman, Jimmy Ernst, Alfonso Ossorio, Ibram Lassaw, Elaine de Kooning, James Brooks, Esteban Vicente, Kurt Vonnegut among many others. Originally a stone lithography workshop, it has shifted in its emphasis to etching with Dan Welden's discovery of the "Solarplate" process. Paramount was a recent twofold exhibition at the Cape Cod Museum of Art featuring roughly 100 works by the ‘master' and the circle of other artists with whom he has worked.

Eric Fischl
Eric Fischl is an internationally acclaimed American painter and sculptor. His artwork is represented in many distinguished museums throughout the world and has been featured in over one thousand publications. His extraordinary achievements throughout his career have made him one of the most influential figurative painters of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Fischl's suburban upbringing provided him with a backdrop of alcoholism and a country club culture obsessed with image over content. His early work thus became focused on the rift between what was experienced and what could not be said. His first New York City solo show was at Edward Thorp Gallery in 1979, during a time when suburbia was not considered a legitimate genre for art. He first received critical attention for depicting the dark, disturbing undercurrents of mainstream American life. Fischl's paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints have been the subject of numerous solo and major group exhibitions and his work is represented in many museums, as well as prestigious private and corporate collections, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Museum of Modem Art in New York City, The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, St. Louis Art Museum, Louisiana Museum of Art in Denmark, MusÈe Beaubourg in Paris, The Paine Weber Collection, and many others. Fischl has collaborated with other artists and authors, including E.L. Doctorow, Allen Ginsberg, Jamaica Kincaid, Jerry Saltz and Frederic Tuten. Eric Fischl is a Fellow at both the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the American Academy of Arts and Science. He lives and works in Sag Harbor, NY with his wife, the painter April Gornik.

Dan Welden
Dan Welden is a process-oriented, experimental artist whose life and work revolve around “discovery.” Primarily interested in materials and techniques that explore landscape through his drawings, paintings, and prints, his art evolves from linear pathways echoing from the various connections in his life. With an emphasis on natural and organic forms, his recent images have become a direct bond with his latest discovery developed in the series "Aesop's Fables". With 91 solo shows plus seven pending venues, and visits to 53 countries his working pathway is clearly focused. Dan Welden's multi-faceted life as a master printmaker, painter, author, educator have led him to be the innovator of 'Solarplate', the environmentally friendly method of making 'safer' impressions without the use of hazardous acids solvents and grounds. Dan's numerous awards include a recent Pollock/Krasner Grant, 2020-21; a QE II Arts Council Grant for a residency in New Zealand 1993; a Professor Emeritus at the Escuela de Beas Artes in Cuzco, Peru 2017; three residencies in Guanlan China; California Lutheran University 2012, and an upcoming Castleberg Trust Residency in New Zealand in 2022. He is active in the arts community as the president of the non-profit arts and science organization called Inspiration Plus; Honorary member of the California Printmakers; recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from A/E Foundation, New York, and presently involved as a subject in the documentary film, "Lasting Impressions”, a Lundegaard Production.

Roy Nicholson
Roy Nicholson’s interest in printmaking dates back to his student days at Hornsey College of Art in London. A frequent collaborator with Dan Welden, he is currently working on a series of large-scale graphics in various versions with added paint and drawing. “The works are composed of the lines of my hands, tangled up with Morning Glory vines,” he explains. “Each work uses the same matrix, but the final images are very different from each other. They reflect the complexity of the natural world and how we are tied up in it.” Many of his compositions, including the Sweet Pea Suite in the Toxic Garden series, are based on the flora in his garden. Writing in the Journal of the Print World, Laura Einstein described the Sweet Pea Suite as “an exquisite tableau that belies the toxic nature of the sweet pea plant” and praised its “masterful experiment in colour juxtapositions.” Nicholson is also noted for his public commissions, including mosaic murals for the Los Angeles Metro Arts in Union Station and laminated art glass in the Long Island Rail Road’s Hicksville station for MTA Arts & Design. His first 52 Weeks series of paintings was purchased by the US Federal Reserve Bank for its Atlanta branch, and his 52 Weeks II series was exhibited at New York’s legendary Four Seasons restaurant. His work has been included in 26 solo shows and numerous group exhibitions worldwide, and is owned by Yale University Art Gallery, Guild Hall Museum, the Parrish Art Museum, Abbot Hall Art Gallery, UK, and many other public and private collections.
