Dónall Billings

Dónall Billings is a professional artist with a breadth of experience in printmaking. He graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Printmaking from the University of Ulster (School of Art) Belfast and a Masters in Arts Management at Queen’s University Belfast. He is the current Belfast Print Workshop Technician and continues to explore the potential of printmaking’s technical and artistic challenges through innovation, collaboration, mentoring and facilitation. He has worked in collaboration with many national and international organisations and artists through editioning and arts projects. The print works submitted are part of a new larger body of work based on a hybrid of contemporary interests on diverse classical and ancient works of art, be they prints, paintings, sculpture, performance, poetry or writing... Arts, culture and language are intrinsically linked within this new body of prints. The choices and uses of materials have become integral to the conceptualisation inherent in the processes of creating this work. An intangible link has been forged between the thought processes, the physical elements, the practical application and the nourishment of the soul, entwined with time, space and circumstance.
