Norman Ackroyd RA

One of Britain’s foremost landscape artists, Norman Ackroyd attended the Leeds College of Art and the Royal College of Art in London, where he studied under Julian Trevelyan. Subsequently he lived for several years in the United States. He was elected a Royal Academician in 1989. He was appointed Professor of Etching, University of the Arts, in 1994 and a Senior Fellow of the Royal College of Art in 2000, and in 2007 was made CBE for services to Engraving and Printing. His work is held in many prominent public collections, including the British Museum, London, Tate Gallery, London, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, National Gallery, Washington DC and Amsterdam Rijksmuseum. He has completed numerous mural commissions, notably for Lloyds Bank, London; British Airways, Birmingham Airport; the British Embassy in Moscow and Lazards Bank, Stratton Street, London.
